Fine Art Nudes

Over the years I have photographed landscapes, portraits, underwater and land-based animals, and artistic nudes. This site is devoted entirely to my artistic nudes, ranging from realistic to abstract.

My idea may be to capture a wavy line of light, or a shape, or the play of light and shadow along or across a body, but always, my goal is to create simple, classic, timeless images.  None of us will look the same 20 years from now.  It is important to capture how we look today, so that we may cherish those images in the years to come.

Artistically successful nude photography is challenging because it must do more than use the surprise of nudity to capture the eye for a moment.  Great fine art nude images will have a certain mood or feeling, conveyed through form, light and shadow, that sustains the visual interest of both women and men, and provides then with lasting enjoyment.  

Colour in a photograph is sometimes a strong element, but may also be a distraction from the pure shapes and forms of the fine art nude.  That is why many of my images are either black & white, or tinted a variety of warm or cool colours.  I have also developed techniques for giving images a surface glow or an abstract, soft metallic look.  Sometimes the form of entire body is the essence of the image, sometimes only body parts, and sometimes only a single highlight or shadow.

This site exists only to display, not to sell my photography. Eventually, however, if the quality and the interest are there, a collection of the best of these images might be offered for sale through an art gallery as signed, limited edition prints, or as a book.

Since my models usually collaborate with me on a TF basis I will often shoot images for their use, such as headshots, fashion, glamour or fetish, in return for their modelling for nudes.  Some samples of these are on my Images for Models page.  As I am always looking for new models (ages 21+, to any age), please contact me if you would be interested in shooting with me.  For more information please see also my Profile on Model Mayhem, # 1087198
